Lulu Brook Trail

The Lulu Brook Trail isn't a mountain biking trail, but since we were just itching to do something and with all our other projects stalled, we decided to clean it up. This trail hadn't been passable as far back as the 1980's and it took a ton of work to resurrect it, but it's a fabulous trail. It's all on a side hill and has plenty of reverse gradients so is very sustainable. It follows the beautiful Lulu Brook as it cascades down the mountain and is one of the nicest hiking trails in the Berkshires. We got permission to begin clearing it in late August of 2009 and spent about a month just chainsawing, then two more months improving the bench cutting that was originally done on the trail. Two bridges were also constructed over small gullies.
