Adopt a Trail
Theresa Apple suggested we all Adopt a Trail to help spread the work load! If you want to adopt one, send an email to BerkshireNEMBA@gmail.com and claim a trail. You should be willing to clean it up in the Spring and after the leaves come down in the Fall as well as check it every week or two. Things that typically need to be done are: remove any downed trees, clean out drainage cuts, trim back branches, remove anything else that gets in the way.
If everyone could adopt a single trail, it would be absolutely awesome!
If you come across any issues that need attention, please send email to BerkshireNEMBA@gmail.com. This list is constantly growing so if you know another trail that needs adding to the list or better yet, that either already maintain or would like to maintain, let us know!

You can refer to this map when choosing the trails you'd like to maintain in the Pittsfield State Forest.
All people maintaining trails must print out and sign a copy of the Volunteer Release Form and give to either Mark Todd in the Pittsfield State Forest Headquarters or Becky Barnes at the Cheshire Office on the Bike Path on Rt 8.
Please log all your hours spent maintaining trails on DCR properties in the log book in the phone booth at Pittsfield State Forest Headquarters. As you face headquaters, the phone is just to the left of the garage doors.
